Outdoor Storage Shed

We recommend that you secure your outdoor storage shed to a concrete-built base to prevent moisture from entering the shed. Our outdoor storage sheds come with four sturdy metal brackets that are securely fastened to the concrete base, so that no matter how fierce the storm, the shed will stay in place and not move.

Canned Food - The long-term preservation of canned goods is achieved through the sterilization process, but their seal can be severely compromised if they are exposed to extreme temperature changes. Excessive heat can reactivate bacteria inside the can, while cold weather can cause the food inside to freeze and expand, which can cause the can to rupture. For this reason, we recommend storing canned foods indoors where the temperature is more stable.

Electronics - Various electronic devices, such as cell phones, computers, and tablets, contain extremely sensitive electronic components. These components are susceptible to damage in environments that are too hot or too cold. In addition, humid environments can cause oxidation of circuit boards, short circuits, and other electrical problems.

Photographs - Photo paper is sensitive to moisture, and humid environments can cause photos to stick, mildew, or distort colors. Photos may fade more quickly in hot environments.

Textiles - Textiles such as clothing and bedding are susceptible to mold and mildew in humid environments and may attract pests. Therefore, it is best to store these fabrics in a dry, well-ventilated area and use appropriate pest control measures such as mothballs. There are exceptions, however, as cushions and pillows can be stored outdoors due to their special construction.

Paint - Extremely cold or hot environments can degrade paint and cause it to freeze or peel. When storing paint, choose a cool, dry environment with a constant temperature and make sure containers are tightly sealed to prevent harmful fumes from escaping.

Musical Instruments - Wooden musical instruments such as guitars and pianos are susceptible to warping or loosening of glued parts in environments with fluctuating temperatures and humidity, while metal instruments may oxidize and corrode. For best preservation, musical instruments should be stored in an environment where temperature and humidity are relatively constant and require regular maintenance.

Art - Works of art such as paintings and sculptures must be stored in a warm, dry environment to prevent deterioration of materials, fading of pigments, or distortion of materials. Artwork should be stored away from direct light and temperature and humidity should be controlled.

Gasoline and Other Flammable Substances - The storage of flammable substances such as gasoline and liquefied petroleum gas requires extreme care, as they are highly susceptible to fire or explosion if stored in an improper environment. Strict safety practices should be followed when storing such items, ensuring that they are well-ventilated and kept away from ignition sources.

Batteries - At extreme temperatures, batteries can undergo dangerous chemical reactions that can cause them to leak or even explode. Batteries should be stored in a temperature-stabilized environment and out of direct sunlight.

Plastic toys - High temperatures can cause chemical reactions in plastic materials, releasing substances that are harmful to children. Therefore, toys should be stored in a mild indoor environment, which not only ensures the safety of the toys, but also prolongs their life.

Regular Inspection and Cleaning

• Roof and Wall Inspection: Every so often, walk around and check the roof and walls for cracks, leaks, or signs that the wood is starting to rot. Pay particular attention to hidden corners that could be eroded by water.
• Cleaning tip: Scrub exterior siding with soap and water on a variety of materials, such as metal, wood, or vinyl. Occasionally, a low-pressure water jet can be used for deep cleaning, but be careful to protect the surface of the material.

Moisture and Waterproofing Treatments
